Community & Sponsorships

MJB industries takes pride in contributing to the local community through ongoing support and participation in local events and initiatives.

MJB Industries considers community support and involvement an integral and valuable part of our business. Important to us, community communication and sponsorship are at the heart of what MJB Industries stand for and is one of our core values. MJB are fundraising for Mates in Construction’s Big Lap 2026

What is MATES Big Lap?

  • MATES Big Lap is an event held during the entire month of April to raise awareness about mental health and suicide in our industry.

  • It is a virtual event, allowing mates from across Australia to take part — walk, run, ride, swim, or wheel.

  • Participants can set their own goal for how many kilometres they hope to achieve.

  • Track your distance using Fitbit, Strava, or by manually entering your kilometres via the tracker app.

  • No obstacles — suitable for both serious athletes and those just getting started.

  • Create a team and take the opportunity to check in on your mates.

  • Improve not only your physical health, but your mental health as well.

  • Share your progress and the reason you’re participating with friends and family.

The Challenge

  • The distance by road around Australia is approximately 15,000 km.

  • MATES Big Lap 2024 saw over 1,000 people collectively complete an amazing 8 laps of Australia.

  • This year, mates are aiming for 9 laps, in memory of the number of Australians who lose their lives to suicide every day.

  • 1,000 people walking 5 km each day during April should help reach the target — with the help of a few cyclists and runners along the way.

Fundraising

  • 100% of funds raised (including the registration fee) will go to the selected industry or state program.

  • Fundraising is essential to support MATES, helping us put more boots on the ground to improve mental health and prevent suicide in our industry.
